Jakob Avila joined the St. Mary School teaching team in 2021 and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Though Mr. Avila is fairly new to the educational field, he comes equipped with the knowledge of modern teaching methods and strategies. Mr. Avila emphasizes making every lesson as engaging and exciting as possible. Before St. Mary School, he taught 5th-grade at Skyridge Elementary in Auburn, CA. Mr. Avila has a strong passion for teaching 5th-grade due to his love for the curriculum that is taught, especially the American Revolution. He plans to continue his education by starting a Master’s in Teaching program in the Spring. “I am very blessed to have the opportunity to teach here at St. Mary School, and I thank everyone for the warm welcome.”
