Mena Donovan has been teaching 1st grade at St. Mary School since 2012, and previous to that was a teacher’s aide. Before coming to St. Mary School, she taught 1st grade at Rod Kelley Elementary School for 5 years and was at Jordan Elementary School for 1 year where she taught kindergarten. Mrs. Donovan says her goal is to make learning fun and engaging for her students. She enjoys incorporating art and music into her lessons and offering her students lots of hands-on activities. “I want my students to enjoy coming to school and learning. I want them to look around the room and see their work and art on the walls and feel proud of what they’ve accomplished. As a first-grade teacher, I believe it’s important to nurture the students’ minds and hearts. I want each of my students to feel special and loved.” Mrs. Donovan has a master’s degree in special education and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a supplementary authorization in art and English.
